This is a total retinal detachment due to proliferative vitreoretinopathy.

The coronal view of the total detachment is seen in an equatorial slice. The image is a regular circle with mildly reflective material inside the circle. Movement and tilting of the probe traces the cross-sections back to the optic nerve.
